The Osmonds in Malaysia

"He's a little bit country, she's a little bit rock-and-roll". Sounds familiar?

The Osmonds were here to stage their one-night only 50th Anniversary Tour at Genting Highlands on 21 June 2008.

Memories of Donny and Marie Osmond Show came pouring to my mind. They are the celebrity Mormons me and my sisters and I used to be crazy about this duo. I still remember we wouldn't miss any of their show on TV (those were the days when TV was almost THE only source of entertainment).

Unlike other celebrities, they promote good and healthy morales. And, they are a bunch of multi-talented siblings who never failed to keep us entertained on a weekend.

My ambition was to be an accountant

From the first year I reached secondary school until I graduated, being an accountant had always been my first choice ambition.  It was only on my final year in Secondary 5 that my first choice had changed to being a 'Manageress'.  Somehow, as a child, an accountant gave me the impression of being a very highly-respectable profession.  Not only that, one can only call herself an accountant after passing all the necessary examinations.  She can't call herself one just because she holds the title of 'accountant'.  Having knowledge of this respectable profession or rather occupation, as what I knew last time, and the fact that not anyone can be an accountant, I told myself that that would be my choice.  How about doctors and lawyers? Aren't these respectable occupations? Oh yes, they are. And these earn a lot of money too.  I had even  thought about whether I would be able to be a good lawyer as being a lawyer means one needs to ha...

Of Malaysian - more on our postmen

Letter flimsily left on my car windscreen When can they improve?  Just when I thought things could not be worse, here is where I found my letter.  I know why they place the letter everywhere except the letter box.  Apparently, my car was blocking the postman's motorcycle's path where he could just drop letters into my letter box without having to get down from his bike. Now, this is convenience for them! So, who cares about poor service as long as letters are delivered..not in letter boxes?  Do you notice the letter was not even placed under the wiper in case it may fly off?

Successful in her own way

This news came as quite a shock yesterday, from my sister. A female member of her church passed away after a six-year battle with cancer.  I got to know of her cancer a few years ago and was under the impression that she had survived the disease.   Out of curiosity, I went on to read her blog.  I knew the existence of her blog for quite a while but never bother to read it. Aren't humans like that? They only bother to learn or appreciate a person when he or she is no longer in this world.  I am no different.  I decided to read her blog to find out how she struggled against this silent killer. But, strangely, I was led to read page by page of her story.  Her family members have their own blogs too. I believe the writing genes runs in the family.  Her 'success' in raising outstanding kids intrigues me.  Perhaps, you may enjoy it too, Lion City Girl .
