Don't be tempted

Don't EVER,EVER,EVER open any email from people whom you suspect would not be likely to email to you. Once, I received an email from someone whom I am close to but the content of the email was a casual but suspicious one. I proceeded to question this 'sender' of her reason for doing so. Well, I did not suffer any losses, my PC wasn't corrupted, neither did it get attacked by any virus. There wasn't any link in the email. Just a short and simple message.

Well, I wasn't spared the next time and my curiosity got the better of me. I was in doubt of the email with the subject of the sender's name. She is my relative whom I have not written to and out of curiosity (with no sense of security), I opened the email. What's worse was I succumbed to ignorance and clicked the link. Alas! a virus detection window popped out right before my eyes. Geez, I can't even recall exactly what appeared on my screen. All I could remember was 'it was critical' and 'not all viruses' were killed. There were trojans in both my hard disk. After some clickings of 'Yes', it seemed that something was still not completed yet. Calling an expert was what I did, he advised me to shut down which I did. When my PC was restarted, everything was normal. A check on the status of security of my PC indicates every possible protection is activated. I hope I am safe. But, I gotta consult the expert again to determine whether my PC 'killed' any virus, just in case.

My ambition was to be an accountant

From the first year I reached secondary school until I graduated, being an accountant had always been my first choice ambition.  It was only on my final year in Secondary 5 that my first choice had changed to being a 'Manageress'.  Somehow, as a child, an accountant gave me the impression of being a very highly-respectable profession.  Not only that, one can only call herself an accountant after passing all the necessary examinations.  She can't call herself one just because she holds the title of 'accountant'.  Having knowledge of this respectable profession or rather occupation, as what I knew last time, and the fact that not anyone can be an accountant, I told myself that that would be my choice.  How about doctors and lawyers? Aren't these respectable occupations? Oh yes, they are. And these earn a lot of money too.  I had even  thought about whether I would be able to be a good lawyer as being a lawyer means one needs to ha...

Why people blog?

Why people blog? The latest bug is lurking and penetrating to people from all walks of life, be they politicians, housewives (oh no, homemakers please as they prefer to be called due to their diverse duties), royal blood, retirees, entrepreneurs, corporate high-flyers, celebrities and more common people like me and some of you reading this post. A blogging family of father (the new or 'old' kid of the blog) and daughter , interesting. Actually, Tun Mahathir has been sharing his voices but this time he cleverly uses a different and wider platform. Each blogger has different objective/s. The bug got some into trouble , brings some peace of mind and even prosperity. The power of this bug has been grossly under-estimated until the government's ruling party's so-called unexpected 'defeat'. As for me, a better life is what I'm hoping for. For someone who used to sneer at blogging as a way to 'show-off' one's talents and 'announcing' to the wor...

My first experience and a good one

Today is the day I will attempt on this venture. I wasn't that well-prepared. But, I have promised and I must deliver. My sister was looking forward to today and in fact, had cancelled another clashing activity just to make today happen. (How come the eunuch is more concerned than the emperor?) Actually, I had been doing my homework and do some research internet. But, with the limited time I have to do so many things, I could not focus a lot of time on this. More so, here we are talking about a PMR (secondary one) and SPM (secondary four) level. And, this is one of the toughest subject, the national language, Bahasa Malaysia. Even though the 'students' are my own nephews, I feel the responsibility as well as the pressure to teach them. Well, the session went on quite well. At least, I know what I was doing. I had given some pointers to them. They seem appreciative and are learning something. I'm glad even though I was slightly 'lost' when both seem to want my at...
